
SOUTH AFRICAN AIRWAYS APPOINTS
DEBORAH G. DROKE
AS DIRECTOR, SALES DEVELOPMENT,
MID-ATLANTIC REGION
Fort Lauderdale, FL (September 6, 2007) – South African Airways (SAA), South Africa’s flagship airline and the continent’s most awarded carrier, has announced the appointment of Deborah G. Droke as director, sales development for the Mid-Atlantic region, effective Sept. 10. Droke, who has more than seven years experience in the airline industry, will be based in the Washington, D.C. area and will report to Todd Neuman, vice president, sales - North America.
As director of sales development, Droke will be responsible for all South African Airways business development and passenger sales activities in the Mid-Atlantic region that are generated through retail travel agency, corporate, tour operator and consolidator accounts. Her area of responsibility will include the District of Columbia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, West Virginia and Southern New Jersey.
“Deborah is a high-caliber sales professional whose experience in developing business strategies to capture both leisure and corporate sales will add great value to increasing South African Airways’ position in our gateway city of Washington, DC, as well as throughout the Mid-Atlantic region,” said Neuman.
Prior to joining SAA, Droke served as manager, national account sales with US Airways in Arlington, Virginia, and as director, international visitors program with the World Affairs Council in St. Louis, Missouri. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor of science degree in Sociology and received her master of education degree from Boston University.
